Use this without notice — you're a criminal
Oct 17, 2024It was a simple Facebook post.
"For Rent — 2 beds, 1 bath, no pets."
Then came the message that caught the Legal Plan Member's eye.
"I'll take it. My income is $4k a month, but my credit score's 420."
Wait... what?
Who leads with that?
It's like walking into a job interview with a breakup letter — just weird.
Even stranger, the landlord never asked for their credit score! 🤔
Seems like this wannabe tenant was setting a trap.
Here's how:
If you use a tenant’s credit score against them — like denying their app or raising the rent — you gotta send this notice.
A quick, "that score's not cutting it for us, bud" could've landed the landlord in hot water.
Never knew this?!?
Neither has 99% of landlords — that's why it works.
Skipping the notice?
Yea, that's a federal crime.

This happened to a Legal Plan Member this week. After a quick chat with our lawyers, he did the opposite of what he planned — and avoided a federal crime. And never spent a dime.
If you're still DIY-ing the legal stuff... seriously, what’s wrong with you?
